The 8th Grade Parent Meeting concerning our Midwest Clinic Performance in Chicago will take place on Tuesday, August 28th at 6:00 p.m. in the band room prior to open house. Details regarding costs, payment schedule, accommodations, transportation, etc. will be covered. We look forward to seeing you there.
As a reminder the initial deposit for the 8th grade Chicago Trip is due on Friday the 14th. Thank you for your commitment to this once in a life-time opportunity!
Just a reminder that the second payment of $275.00 is due on Fri. October 12th. It is very important that this payment be made on time a we have bills to pay for the trip. Please note,
that fundraiser money raised will be applied/credited to the last payment due in November. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
We will have our final symphonic band camp at the Lassiter Band Room on Sat., Nov. 10th. We will meet at 12:00 noon and go till 7:00 p.m. A pizza dinner will be provided. Students should eat lunch prior to attending. Please have your child work around conflicts and make every effort to attend as it is important for our preparations for Chicago.

Girls will need to wear black stockings with black closed toe shoes (flats). Dresses should be hemmed approximately one and ½ inches off floor as measured with shoes on. Dresses can be pinned for picture as long as they are hemmed prior to Chicago.
Boys should bring a tuxedo shirt as well as their provided tuxedo, cummerbund and bowtie. Socks must be all black, and shoes must be of a lace-up style and all black. Tennis shoes are not acceptable. Please review with the boys how to put tie and cummerbund on over the weekend.
The band's Chicago performance will be streamed online within 24 hours of our performance. You will find the Midwest Clinic link on the left side of the band page. Follow the links to audio/video.
The 8th grade band will meet at the Mabry Band Room on Monday morning at 3:00 a.m. to board buses for the Airport. Please assure students have their instrument and formal wear in addition to personal luggage. You may want to send them with a packed snack for breakfast, as it will not be provided.
Please join us at the Campus of Kennesaw State University on Thursday, Dec. 13th for a preview of our Midwest Performance. Dr. Brian Bowman, one of the world's most respected euphonium players will be a soloist with the band. The concert begins at 7:00 p.m. with doors opening at 6:30. Harrison High School, also performing at Midwest, will perform at 8:15 and you are invited to hear them as well. Admission is free and the concert will be held at the Bobbie Bailey Performing Arts Center on campus.
Things are going well, and we are looking forward to today's performance. Tonight we will have dinner at Gino's East Pizza and attend a performance by the Blue Man Group. Here are some pictures of some fun in the snow!
